Homeless Youth Absenteeism by Reason

The latest DataQuest report on California's homeless youth absenteeism data by race/ethnicity and reason.

This report provides a total count of 2018–19, cumulatively enrolled students experiencing homelessness who were eligible to be included in the absence calculations (Eligible Cumulative Enrollment) and a count of students who were determined to have missed one or more days of school between July 1 and June 30 (Count of Students with one or more Absences).

PLEASE BE ADVISED: No reports due to the determination by the California Department of Education (CDE) that the data are not valid and reliable for the 2019–20 academic year. This is due to the manner in which absenteeism data are collected in the California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS) that impacts the integrity of the data and related calculations for any period of time other than the full academic year. For more information about the impact of COVID-19 on data reporting for the 2019–20 academic year, please visit the CDE COVID-19 and Data Reporting webpage.
