Dropouts by Race & GenderDownloadable data files for grade seven through twelve dropouts and enrollment by race/ethnic designation and gender by school.
Please Note: The California Department of Education (CDE) has historically collected annual one-year graduation and dropout counts during the fall through the California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS). This data collection consists of all students who graduated or dropped out during the year, regardless of when they started high school. The CDE is currently considering moving up the collection time of one-year graduation counts from the fall after graduation to the end of the academic year of graduation to align with the collection of the four-year adjusted cohort graduation rate (ACGR) data. The collection of one-year dropouts will still occur during the fall to account for dropouts who return the following academic year (re-enrolled dropouts). While the CDE makes these changes in CALPADS, the one-year graduate and dropout reports in DataQuest will not be updated (note: the most recently available data reports is 2016-17). However, the CDE will be making downloadable data files publicly available for one-year graduates and one-year dropouts at this location in November 2019.
Each school in these files may have one or more records, but no more than 16. In other words, there may be two records (one female and one male) for each of the eight ethnic designations.
