Update to the 2021–22 List of Schools Identified for
Williams Monitoring

In March 2022, the California Department of Education (CDE) announced in the Legislative Update to the Williams Case and Schools Identified for Monitoring the 2021–22 list of schools identified for Williams monitoring. This list of schools was based on new criteria specified in Assembly Bill (AB) 599 (Chapter 667, Statutes of 2021).

One of the new criteria specified in AB 599 required the CDE to include schools where 15 percent or more of the teachers are holders of any authorization that is not a
preliminary or clear California teaching credential. The CDE recently received updated information from the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) related to this
credentialing criteria. Attachment 1 contains the list of 19 schools that are no longer eligible for 2021–22 Williams monitoring based on the updated data file from the CTC. An updated list of schools file (with these 19 schools removed) is now available on the CDE’s Schools Identified for Monitoring web page.

The following schools that were initially identified for the Williams list of schools in March 2022 have been removed from the list based on updated data from the Commission on Teacher Credentialing effective May 2022.
