CAHSEE Independent Evaluation Study

Funding Description

This Request for Proposal (RFP) invites submissions for an independent evaluation study to examine twelfth graders (and, as deemed necessary by the bidder to accomplish the goals of this study, others) who have taken the California High School Exit Examination (CAHSEE) with modifications and accommodations specified in their respective individualized education program (IEP) or Section 504 plans, but who have not passed the CAHSEE, and who have satisfied or will satisfy all other requirements for graduation from high school. The purpose of this contract is to conduct an independent study to examine why such students have not passed the CAHSEE.

Eligibility

Eligible Applicants Individuals, institutions of higher education, local educational agencies, nonprofit organizations, other organizations or agencies
Required Eligibility Criteria Bidders must have at least 36 months of recent experience in conducting studies relying on significant expertise on the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (20 USC 1400 et seq.) and applicable state law, as well as assessment of pupils with disabilities. In addition, bidders must be legally constituted and qualified to do business within the State of California.
Other Eligibility Considerations In order to maintain the independent quality of this study, the current contractor on the CAHSEE administration contract (contract number 7065) and CAHSEE independent evaluation contract (contract number 7112) is excluded from bidding on this RFP.
