California School Age Families Education (Flexible Funds)


Funding Description

Funding for this program is unrestricted pursuant to SBX3 4 (Chapter 12, Statutes of 2009), enacted February 2009. For additional information, please refer to the Action on 2008 and 2009 Budget Acts Web page.

Before 2008-09, the funds were restricted to the California School Age Families Education (Cal-SAFE) Program, which is a comprehensive, integrated, community-linked, school based program for expectant and parenting students and their children. The program provides academic and support services to encourage the students to stay in school, along with child care and developmental services for their children.
