Funding Description

The Parent Links (Hope! Dream! Achieve!) program will provide funding to selected Family Resource Centers to provide parent-to-parent support to families of infants identified through the California Newborn Hearing Screening Program.

Allocation Formula Each Family Resource Center (FRC) will receive $10,000. These funds are to be spent for outreach activities, to include regional family events for families of children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Each FRC must submit a plan to Nancy Grosz Sager by July 31, outlining the outreach events that will be held between August 1, 2012, and September 30, 2012. Family Focus will receive an additional amount of $5,000 to develop a data base to record the information gathered from Parent Links contacts with families of infants identified through the California Newborn Hearing Screening Program. Family Focus will prepare an annual report, due March 30 of each year they receive a Parent Links grant, summarizing the information collected and recorded in the data base.
