Parent Links (State Operations)


Funding Description

The Parent Links (Hope! Dream! Achieve!) program will provide funding to selected Family Resource Centers to provide parent-to-parent support to families of infants identified through the California Newborn Hearing Screening Program. These funds are to be spent for outreach activities, to include regional family events for families of children who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Required Eligibility Criteria Family Resource Centers funded by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act who are already receiving Parent Links funds (e.g. there is no new application to fill out).

Allocation Formula $40,000 is going out to supplement the Parent Links grants at the three Family Resource Centers who have grants. $20,000 will go to Family Focus Resource and Empowerment Center at CA State University Northridge, $10,000 to Exceptional Parents Unlimited in Fresno, and $10,000 to Rowell Family Empowerment Center in Redding.
