Funding Description
The State Agency Entitlements, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Special Education funds are specifically allocated to support the education of students with disabilities as defined by IDEA. Recipients are the State Special Schools, particularly the California School for the Blind; the California School for the Deaf in Fremont; the California School for the Deaf in Riverside; the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Division of Juvenile Justice; and the California Department of Developmental Services.Eligibility

Required Eligibility Criteria | To receive funds, a local educational agency (LEA) must submit a local plan (application) that contains assurances to the state educational agency that are consistent with federal and state laws and regulations. |
Other Eligibility Considerations | LEAs must account for these funds as expenditures for pupils with an individualized education plan (IEP) and for the provision of the special education and related services required by students with disabilities in order to benefit from a public education. |
