Alternate Dispute Resolution Expansion Program


Funding Description

Funds are used by local educational agencies (LEAs) to develop and test procedures, materials, and conduct training to address mediation and other alternate dispute resolution (ADR) practices in special education. Parents or guardians of students with disabilities, LEAs, and Special Education Local Plan Areas (SELPAs) may use mediation and ADR practices to resolve disputes at the local level.

Eligibility

Eligible Applicants Local educational agencies
Required Eligibility Criteria LEAs participating in the program are eligible upon successful completion of an approved ADR grant application. They are required to develop and participate in local ADR activities/trainings as part of a regional consortia.
Other Eligibility Considerations Selected LEAs are required to collect, maintain, and provide data related to ADR activities, along with information about the development and testing of procedures, materials, and training for ADR in special education.
