Title III County Office of Ed. Regional English Learner Specialists Agreement


Funding Description

Pursuant to statutory requirements of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, reauthorized by the Every Student Succeeds Act, states are required to provide local educational agencies (LEAs) with technical assistance. Therefore, the California Department of Education provides funding for a Title III County Office of Education Regional English Learner (EL) Specialist within each of the 11 California County Superintendents’ regions for the purpose of guiding LEAs in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services for English learners.

Required Eligibility Criteria Eleven Title III County Office of Education Regional EL Specialists, from 11 selected county offices of education will provide guidance to LEAs within the 11 California County Superintendents' regions, focused on implementing effective programs and services for English learners.
