Important Dates

Friday, March 29, 2020

Timeline for Reductions Process

  • January 31, 2020: Attendance data reporting is due to the Expanded Learning Division (EXLD) for the July 1–December 31, 2019 attendance data reporting period.

  • February 18, 2020: The Voluntary Site Cancellation form is due to the EXLD; This form is to permanently cancel a site from your grant.

  • February 18–February 28, 2020: Disaster Relief days compiled and grantees notified via email of attendance credits.

  • March 2–March 16, 2020: Data is compiled, attendance analysis completed, and grant reductions computed by the EXLD.

  • March 23–March 27, 2020: Grant recipients are notified of grant reduction amounts. Revisions to attendance data or computations will only be considered within one week of the email notice under the following circumstance:

    • Incorrect attendance data was submitted by the grantee; a request can be made for correction with the EXLD management approval.

  • July 1, 2020: Effective date of the grant reductions.

Important: Once the Reduction list is shared any revisions to attendance data or computations beyond April 7, 2020, will not be granted in order for the EXLD to meet the statutory requirements for notification of new grant awards.

  • California State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond announced that applications are available for the Summer Food Service Program and Seamless Summer Option, for federally funded, state-administered programs that serve free meals to children eighteen and younger. Regional Conferences

March 9–10, 2020: CalSac Afterschool Challenge

March 15–18, 2020: National AfterSchool Association Convention

  • Join over 2,000 members of our community at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center for four days of networking, learning and inspiration: special events, 200 plus educational sessions, daily keynotes and an interactive Learning Expo all designed to meet the needs of the developing professionals and emerging and current leaders of afterschool. Come to the National AfterSchool Association Convention 2020 and Afterschool for All Challenge and leave saying, "I've found my people!".

April 20–24, 2020: AfterSchool Professionals Appreciation Week

  • Community partners, afterschool programs, youth and child development workers and individuals have declared the last full week of April each year as a time to recognize and appreciate expanded learning staff.

April 28–May 1, 2020: Best of Out-of-School-Time Conference

The Best of Out-of-School Time Conference External link opens in new window or tab. is a four-day conference held in Palm Springs, California. This conference provides networking and team building opportunities for more than 2,500 out of school time professionals with the opportunity to attend more than 150 workshops.
