Collaborator Permissions

The California Department of Education determines all participants who have access to CDEbox for School Facilities. There are two collaborator permission levels used in CDEbox for School Facilities:

  • Viewer - A Viewer has full-read access to a folder and can preview any item using the integrated content viewer, and will be able to download any item in the folder. A Viewer will not be able to invite new collaborators or upload/edit items in the folder.
  • Viewer/Uploader - This access level is a combination of Viewer and Uploader. A Viewer/Uploader has full-read access to a folder, but limited write access. They will be able to preview any item using the integrated content viewer as well as download any item in the folder. A Viewer/Uploader will also be able to upload content into the folder, but they will not be able to invite new collaborators or edit items in the folder.

For each project participant, there are standard permissions given to CDEbox for School Facilities:

  • All users - Viewer permission to the project folder, which allows all users the ability to view all files within the folder and the ability to download those documents.
  • District - Viewer/Uploader permission to the project folder and all subfolders therein.
  • Consultants - Viewer/Uploader permission to the project folder and all other subfolders therein.

When you log onto CDEbox.com you can navigate the various project folders to the full extent of the permissions you have been granted.
