CalRecycle Edible Food Recovery Grant Program


The California Department of Education Nutrition Services Division is sharing information about the Edible Food Recovery Grant Program. The California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) is offering grants to support organizations with funding new and expanded edible food recovery and food waste prevention projects. Applications are due by December 16, 2021.

This grant program provides funding to organizations that:

  • Collect and redistribute edible food to people in need that would otherwise go to waste
  • Help prevent the generation of food waste normally destined for landfills

This solicitation is targeting the most food insecure communities and qualifying tribal communities.
