Subject: Availability of the Child and Adult Care Food Program Administrative Manual for Centers and Day Care Home Sponsors

This management bulletin (MB) supersedes the California Department of Education (CDE) MB CACFP-16-2014: Availability of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Administrative Manual for Child and Adult Care Centers.

The CDE Nutrition Services Division developed the CACFP Administrative Manual for centers and day care home (DCH) sponsors, which is on the CDE CACFP Administrative Manual web page at https://www.cde.ca.gov/ls/nu/cc/cacfpmanualtablecontent.asp. This manual supersedes the 2014 CDE Administrative Manual for Child and Adult Care Centers and the 1995 CDE Child Care Food Program DCH Sponsors Administrative Manual.

The CACFP Administrative Manual contains guidance on critical compliance areas of the CACFP for all agencies, including centers and DCH sponsors. Requirements outlined in this manual apply to all CACFP agencies, except where noted. It is highly recommended that agencies review the CACFP Manual Terms, Definitions, and Acronyms web page at https://www.cde.ca.gov/ls/nu/cc/cacfpmanualterms.asp for a list of important acronyms and definitions.

The CDE will make revisions to the online manual as program updates occur; however, agencies are ultimately responsible for complying with all current federal regulations, U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service Instructions, USDA Policy Memoranda, and CDE MBs.
