Child Nutrition Advisory Council Recruitment 2024

The State Superintendent of Public Instruction (SSPI) Child Nutrition Advisory Council (CNAC) is currently accepting applications for multiple positions.

CNAC Mission:

Per California Education Code Section 49533, the mission of the CNAC is to advise the SSPI in areas of health, wellness, and nutrition for all students in California’s pre-kindergarten through grade twelve public schools.

Positions Under Recruitment:

  • Child Care Food Program Sponsor

  • Classroom Teacher

  • Curriculum Coordinator

  • Food Service Director

  • Food Service Supervisor/Manager

  • Lay Person

  • Nutrition Education Specialist

  • Parent–Teacher Association (PTA) or Organization (PTO) Representative

Term of Office:

January 1, 2024, through December 31, 2026

Application Due Date:

Friday, December 15, 2023

Meeting Schedule:

The CNAC typically convenes for one day, three to four times per year in-person in Sacramento. Members receive travel reimbursement at the state travel reimbursement rates to support their presence and participation.
