Child Nutrition Database - Release 24
The Child Nutrition Database, Release 24 (CN24) , is now available. The CN24 is a required database for nutrient analysis software approved by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for use in school meals.
Action Steps for School Food Authorities (SFAs)
- Before July 1, 2021, share with your software representative the action steps for nutrient analysis software companies (below).
- After July 1, 2021, verify with your nutrient analysis software company that their software includes the most current version of the Child Nutrition Database (version CN24).
Action Steps for Nutrient Analysis Software Companies
To maintain USDA approval, software companies must submit their nutrient analysis and certification of compliance software, updated to include CN24, to the USDA Software Evaluation Team by Thursday, July 1, 2021.
Instructions for submitting software to the USDA is being provided directly to USDA-approved software companies. For those with access to USDA PartnerWeb, it is also available on the Child Nutrition Program Approved Nutrition Software PartnerWeb Community. New companies seeking approval should contact the USDA Software Evaluation Team at email@example.com.
The USDA Food and Nutrition Service recommends that companies also send a copy of their updated software to their customers by July 1, 2021.
