CNIPS Application Requirement Reminder
The California Department of Education (CDE) Nutrition Services Division Community Nutrition Programs Unit (CNPU) would like to remind Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) and Seamless Summer Option (SSO) sponsors to keep meal service site information and meal service dates and times entered in their Child Nutrition Information and Payment System (CNIPS) site applications updated and current. This ensures that the most up-to-date program and site information is advertised throughout the various national and state advertisement platforms, especially the California Meals for Kids mobile application.
The CDE wants to ensure that all SFSP and SSO sponsors are able to maximize their reimbursements. Federal regulations require the CDE to ensure that all summer meal program sponsors accurately report their meal service site information in their CNIPS SFSP or SSO site applications. Therefore, please check to make sure meal service site information, including the dates and times of operation is correct and accurate. Program operators are encouraged to reach out to their SFSP or SSO County Specialist if they are unsure how their service information must be entered in their CNIPS SFSP or SSO site application.
