Based on new verbal guidance from the U. S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the California Department of Education (CDE) has updated the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section of the CDE COVID-19 Guidance in the Child Nutrition Programs (CNP) web page to provide further guidance for CNPs.

The CDE seeks to continually provide the latest COVID-19 information for all CNPs on USDA policy guidance, waivers, claiming, and other resources. The CNPs referenced are the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, Seamless Summer Option, Summer Food Service Program, Child and Adult Care Food Program, and the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program.
