The California Department of Education is pleased to announce the following educational resources provided by Penn State Better Kid Care. Child care providers, including those participating in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), will benefit from this training, as they continue to work to protect themselves and children during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Navigating CACFP During COVID-19
This live webinar will feature a panel discussion on policy and practice changes for the CACFP during the COVID-19 pandemic. Panelists will include experts from the USDA, Penn State Better Kid Care, Food and Action Research Council, and KinderCare Education.

COVID-19: Protecting Children and Ourselves
This training provides information on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines specific to child care programs and offers insight into trauma-informed approaches to meet the current needs of children and their caregivers. The training can be accessed at any time.

- Learn about COVID-19, the symptoms, and how the virus spreads
- Discuss the importance of aligning program policies and practices with CDC recommendations to reduce COVID-19 exposure and to minimize its spread
- Reflect on ways that the implementation of trauma-informed practices can support children and adults in child care settings
