FDP Administrative Fee Suspension for SY 2022–23

The Nutrition Services Division (NSD) is thrilled to announce that we are temporarily suspending the $0.90 administrative fee for U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Foods for School Year (SY) 2022–23.

The NSD understands the financial hardships faced by school nutrition programs across the state over the past two years, including inflation and supply chain issues. While these issues have also impacted the State Food Distribution Program (FDP) operations and costs, we have been able leverage other funds that will allow us to suspend the administrative fees for USDA Foods.

The chart below shows the administrative fees for all bulk USDA Foods sent to processors and for direct delivery or brown box items sent to a distributor or direct to your school from the USDA will be reduced temporarily to $0.00 per case.

For those schools who receive USDA Foods from our distribution centers, we are applying the $0.90 administrative fee reduction from the standard delivery fee and the standard pick-up fee, which will change the rates from $2.85 to $1.95 and $2.40 to $1.50, respectively.

The fee schedule for SY 2022–23 will be as follows:

Program Fee Standard Fee Temporary Fee

Bulk and Direct Delivery USDA Foods sent to processors, distributors or direct to recipient agencies

(per case or case equivalent)

$0.90 $0.00
USDA Foods and Department of Defense (DoD) Fresh Produce delivered by the State Distribution Centers (SDCs)

USDA Foods picked up at the SDCs $2.40 $1.50
DoD Fresh Produce (administrative fee) $0.15 $0.15
Pilot Produce (administrative fee) $0.15 $0.15

Please note that the DoD Fresh and Pilot fruit and vegetable program administrative fees are not included with this temporary suspension.
