CA LSWP Triennial Assessment Template Webinar

We are pleased to share with you that we have added a second webinar to accommodate high levels of interest in the California (CA) Local School Wellness Policy (LSWP) Triennial Assessment (TEA) Template webinar. See below for an updated version of the communication that was released earlier this month. Please register for only one webinar.

On Tuesday, October 19, at 1 p.m. and Thursday, October 21, at 10 a.m., the CA LSWP Collaborative will provide an overview of a new tool that supports local educational agencies (LEA) in completing the mandated LSWP TEA.

The LSWP TEA is a federal requirement that applies to all schools or districts operating the National School Lunch Program or School Breakfast Program. It requires LEAs to conduct a comprehensive assessment of their LSWP a minimum of once every three years.

As a reminder, LEAs that submitted an LSWP TEA Waiver due to COVID-19 have until June 30, 2022, to complete their first LSWP TEA. Regardless, if you are still working toward completing your first LSWP TEA, or for LEAs who have completed their first one and are working toward completing their second one, this tool can be very helpful!

This Winning at Wellness Webinar will demonstrate how this new, free template walks LEAs through each of the four required assessment components using basic information, resources, and fillable forms, making the process as simple as possible.

Presenters will include:

  • MaryAnn Mills, CalFresh Healthy Living, University of California
  • Mike Danzik, California Department of Education (CDE)
  • Kate McDevitt, San Diego Unified School District

For more information about the LSWP requirements visit the CDE LSWP web page.
