Feeding Adults, Children, and Infants in the CACFP


The California Department of Education is pleased to share the following new Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) resources from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Team Nutrition (TN). There are a variety of resources for operators including training tools in both English and Spanish, handouts for families, standardized recipes in new yields for adult day care centers and family child care homes, and training worksheets for ounce equivalents for grains (which becomes a requirement for crediting grains effective October 1, 2021).

Over 45 USDA standardized recipes for the CACFP are available in yields of 6 servings for family child care homes and 25 and 50 servings for adult day care centers.

  • Updated Crediting Handbook for the CACFP

Remember to check out the updated Crediting Handbook for the CACFP, which includes CACFP meal pattern requirements, newly creditable foods, and a new Crediting in Action section that lets CACFP Operators practice how to credit foods toward meal pattern requirements.
