As a reminder, the CDE NSD recently released the FFVP Request for Applications (RFA) for eligible elementary schools for School Year 2021–22. Applications are due by Friday, March 5, 2021, at 4 p.m. The grant period is July 1, 2021–June 30, 2022. The U.S. Department of Agriculture FFVP is administered by the NSD in California. The purpose of the FFVP is to provide all children in a participating elementary school with a variety of free, fresh fruit and vegetable snacks during the school day. The FFVP is a supplement to (and not part of) the School Breakfast Program or the National School Lunch Program and includes providing student nutrition education.
