Supply Chain Assistance Funds
The California Department of Education (CDE) Nutrition Services Division (NSD) is pleased to announce that the attestation to request or opt-out of the second round of the Supply Chain Assistance (SCA) funds is now available.
The federal SCA funds are a funding stream intended to provide relief of supply chain disruption challenges widely felt throughout the school food service industry. The SCA funds are available to all school food authorities (SFA) regardless of sponsor type, that are currently operating the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and the School Breakfast Program (SBP). The SCA funds must be used exclusively to purchase unprocessed or minimally processed domestic food products.
If your agency already completed the attestation for the first round of funds in spring 2021, and you also wish to receive the second round, no action is required. Your responses from the first attestation will be used to calculate your second round payment.
If you received the first round of funds and wish to opt out of the second round, please notify the SCA funds team via email at SCAfunds@cde.ca.gov by September 14, 2022.
This attestation is only for agencies who wish to receive the second round of the SCA funds that either did not complete the first attestation or declined the funds the first time.
The attestation will take less than five minutes to complete. However, the attestation does request each (SFA) to enter their total enrollment data from all NSLP, SBP, and Seamless Summer Option sites under their sponsorship as of October 2021 or the most current data available, so please have this data available prior to completing the attestation.
Attestation Due Date
The attestation must be completed and submitted by 5:00 p.m. on September 14, 2022. Late submissions will not be accepted.
The attestation can be accessed directly through the CDE attestation web link.
If you have any questions regarding this subject, please email SCAfunds@cde.ca.gov.
