2021 Taste of CA Challenge Grant Recipients


The Team Nutrition Taste of California Standardized Recipe Challenge (Taste of CA Challenge) grant recipients have been posted on the California Department of Education (CDE) Funding Results: Taste of CA Challenge web page.

Congratulations to the 2021 Taste of CA Challenge grantees! The CDE has awarded four Taste of CA Ambassador School District awards of $24,000, and 16 Taste of CA Challenge awards of $8,500. Applicants were selected based on their project design, agency and leadership capacity, sustainability, and recipe identification and proposal. Recipes proposed include a variety of California grown products including avocados, cauliflower, kiwi, lentils, lemons, zucchini, and parsnips. Grantees will also explore cultural cuisines such as Japanese, Korean, Greek, Indian, Filipino, and Thai. The grant period begins April 1, 2021, and will end August 31, 2022.

Taste of CA Challenge grant recipients will receive an email containing a formal Grant Award Notification letter including details about grant requirements, funding allocations, and orientation training.
