Webinar: USDA TN Meal Talk: Taste Test Events

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Team Nutrition (TN) will host a Meal Talk: Taste Test Events Webinar on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 from noon to 1 p.m., Pacific Time. This webinar will feature California’s Kern County Superintendent of Schools (SOS) Director of Food and Nutrition Services Rafael Juarez. Kern County SOS is a California Team Nutrition grantee.

This webinar will discuss tools, tips, strategies, and best practices related to hosting taste-testing events with elementary and secondary school students.Participants will hear success stories and new ideas from members of the 2021 TN Training Grant Cohort.

Learning Objectives

  1. List three benefits of hosting taste-test events.

  2. Identify three tips for hosting successful taste-test events.

  3. Name two ways incorporate results from taste-test events into menu planning.

Professional Standards & Continuing Professional Education Units

This webinar may count toward USDA Professional Standards for School Nutrition Programs Key Area 4000: Communications and Marketing and Key Topic 4130: Customer Service. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Commission on Dietetic Registration has also approved this webinar for 1.0 hours of Continuing Professional Education Units (CPEUs).
