Dear Program Operators:

On March 6, 2020, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued Policy Memorandum SP 08-2020, SFSP 04-2020: Child Nutrition Program Meal Service During Novel Coronavirus Outbreaks. This policy memo outlines how schools, child care institutions, and community organizations can continue to provide reimbursable meals to low-income children during school closures related to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). School food authorities (SFA) must submit their waiver request to the California Department of Education Nutrition Services Division by email at SNPINFO@cde.ca.gov.
