Dear Heritage School Owners:

2023 Heritage School Registration

As a registered heritage school for 2022, you are receiving this email as a reminder that the 2023 Heritage School Registration (HSR) period begins January 1, 2023. Per Education Code (EC) Section 33195, heritage school owners shall annually file a HSR form, along with their annual filing fee, with the California Department of Education (CDE) by January 31, 2023.

NOTE: If you will no longer be operating a Heritage School for 2023, please disregard this email.

You may access the online 2023 Annual HSR Form from the CDE website at https://www3.cde.ca.gov/hsrs/registration.aspx beginning January 1, 2023. After receipt and processing of registration forms and filing fees, heritage schools will be included in the directory of heritage schools, which is available on the CDE Heritage School Registration Form Search web page at https://www3.cde.ca.gov/hsrs/search.aspx.

Consistent with EC Section 33195(c), filing of the HSR Form shall not be interpreted to mean, and it shall be unlawful for any heritage school to expressly or impliedly represent, that the State of California, the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, the State Board of Education, the CDE, any division or bureau of the CDE, or any accrediting agency has made any evaluation, recognition, approval, or endorsement of the heritage school. Additionally, filing the HSR Form does not mean that the State of California or any accrediting agency has granted a license or authorization to operate a heritage school.
