Placing an Order

How do I place an order with a credit card?
Call the Sales Office during regular business hours (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) at 1-800-995-4099 to place your order.

How do I place an order with a check?
Mail the completed order form and a check (payable to the California Department of Education) to the address shown on the Order Form (PDF; Modified 24-Feb-2017).

How do I place an order when using a purchase order?
All businesses, educational institutions, and governmental agencies may use purchase orders. A bona fide purchase order with an authorized signature is required. Mail it to the address shown on the Order Form (PDF; Modified 24-Feb-2017), fax to 916-323-0823 or email to

Do I need to send an order form along with my purchase order?
You do not need to include an official order form as long as the purchase order contains all the information requested on the Order Form (PDF; Modified 24-Feb-2017).

What is your federal tax ID number?
Our federal tax ID number is 68-0258051.

What is your seller's permit number?
Our seller's permit number is SRKH98-012503.

Other than accepting a purchase order, can you bill me?
No; the only way we can bill you is through a bona fide purchase order.

May I come to your office to make a purchase in person?
No; however, you may place your order over the phone and pick up your purchase at our warehouse located in West Sacramento.

How do I calculate the tax?

How long will it take for my order to arrive?
Most orders will arrive within 5-7 business days.

Can you charge my UPS or FedEx account for shipping charges?
No; we are unable to do so at this time.

Do you offer expedited shipping?
Yes. There may be an extra charge, please call the Sales Office at 1-800-995-4099 for rates.

May the items in an order be shipped to multiple locations?

What is the difference between the standards and the frameworks?
The standards identify and describe the skills, knowledge, and abilities that all California students should be able to master at each grade level, beginning in kindergarten and continuing through grade twelve. The frameworks provide guidance on how to teach the standards.

Are the standards included in the frameworks?
All frameworks include the content standards, but you can buy the content standards separately as well.

How often are the standards and frameworks updated?
The State Board of Education is responsible for adopting the Content Standards. The Board may be contacted at 916-319-0827.

Curriculum frameworks are developed by the Instructional Quality Commission. For more information contact the Curriculum Frameworks and Instructional Resources Division at 916-319-0881.

Are the standards and frameworks available in a language other than English?
No, the standards and frameworks are currently available in English only.

Is California's Education Code available from your office?
