The October 2022 CASI Quarterly Regional Training addressed fiscal oversight of charter schools and was presented by the Fiscal Crisis Management & Assistance Team (FCMAT) and the California Charter Authorizing Professionals (CCAP). Presentation topics included requirements, responsibilities, and best practices for charter school oversight; a review of California Education Code provisions that apply to charter oversight; charter petitions and memoranda of understanding (MOU); putting financial framework tools for authorizers to work with sample charter financials; and where to find help and resources.
