Dear County and District Superintendents:
Access to Assessment Results Available for Local Use
Student scores for the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) for English language arts/literacy, mathematics, and science are now available to local educational agencies (LEAs) in the California Educator Reporting System (CERS) and the Test Operations Management System (TOMS). Additionally, student scores for the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) are available in CERS and TOMS. Both data systems are secure and accessible to approved administrators and testing coordinators trained in student privacy protection.
This preliminary data release does not include the California Spanish Assessment and the California Alternate Assessment for Science. The results for these remaining assessments are expected to be available in fall 2022.
The early local CAASPP and ELPAC results will provide LEAs one measure about student learning to support instructional planning for the coming year. Student achievement and proficiency results may also inform the development of Local Control and Accountability Plans and educational programs. Assessment results from CERS and TOMS are not embargoed. LEAs are encouraged to use their results for local planning, including public meetings with their local governing board.
Final data for the CAASPP and ELPAC will be released publicly by the California Department of Education (CDE) later this year in conjunction with the California Dashboard and will be available on the CDE's Test Results for California’s Assessments website at https://caaspp-elpac.cde.ca.gov/.
If you have any questions, please contact the Assessment Development and Administration Division by email at caaspp@cde.ca.gov for CAASPP or at elpac@cde.ca.gov for ELPAC.
Sincerely,
/s/
Cheryl Cotton, Deputy Superintendent
Instruction, Measurement, and Administration Branch
