Don’t Miss Out! Tools for Teachers Shared Practices Webinar Next Week
Teachers and administrators—you will not want to miss next week’s webinar “Supporting Teaching and Learning with the Tools for Teachers Website!” This free professional learning opportunity will be held September 29, 2022, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Join us to hear California educators from district and classroom levels share how they use Tools for Teachers professional learning and instructional resources to support teaching and learning in the classroom. In addition, there will be time for attendees to ask questions about the presentation and Tools for Teachers.

High School Equivalency: A Transition is in Progress!
HiSET® is becoming part of PSI Services (PSI) LLC. For students currently testing, their progress remains unaffected, though HiSET® testing will be unavailable between September 24 through October 2, 2022, while systems transfer from Educational Testing Service (ETS) to PSI. Once testing resumes, students will be able to pick up testing where they left off. All other functions will be available during the testing downtime.
Important dates to remember:
- Starting on September 23, 2022, if test takers have the option to register themselves, they will be able to open their My HiSET® accounts on the PSI system.
- Friday, September 23 is the last day for testing on ETS systems. Test Centers will begin PSI system installations and setup.
- Saturday, September 24 through Sunday, October 2 there will be no HiSET® testing.
- Monday, October 3 is the first day of HiSET® testing on PSI system.

Testing Transitional Kindergarten Students with the Initial ELPAC
For 2022–23, only students enrolled in Transitional Kindergarten, which is the first year of a two-year kindergarten program, who are submitted to California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System, or CALPADS are required to take the Initial ELPAC. Students who have not met the cut-off date for this program will not be eligible.
