Preparing for the 2019–20 CAA for Science—Version Assignments and Administration Planning Guides Posted!
We are pleased to announce that the school version assignments and the 2019–20 CAA for Science Administration Planning Guides for grades five and eight and high school are now posted on the CAASPP Portal CAAs web page . These important guides provide local educational agencies (LEAs) and test examiners with the following:
- Basic information on the CAA for Science administration and test security
- The Science Connectors being assessed
- What to consider when deciding the best time to administer a CAA for Science performance task to a student
- A schedule planner template to assist in deciding when to administer each performance task
Educational Testing Service has assigned each school to one of four versions of the CAA for Science, and all grade levels within a school will have the same version assignment. For example, a K–8 school assigned to Version 1 will use the Administration Planning Guides, Version 1 for both grades five and eight. To find your school-level version assignment, go to the CAASPP Portal CAA for Science Version Assignments for 2019–20 Test Administration web page , select your county, and locate your school in the table by using your county-district-school code.
Because the 2019–20 CAA for Science will be available to begin administering on September 3, please be sure to share these Administration Planning Guides now with teachers and test examiners to allow them as much time as possible to plan how best to integrate each of the four embedded performance tasks into their instructional calendars.
For questions about the guides and accessing your school’s correct version, please contact the California Technical Assistance Center by phone at 800-955-2954 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
