Save the Date—North/South 2015
Every year, the CDE convenes the North/South Information Meeting to provide LEAs with current information on a number of important and timely topics related to California’s assessment system. North/South 2015 will be held as follows:
Sacramento Convention Center, Second Floor
1400 J Street, Sacramento, CA 95814
Doubletree Hotel Ontario, Empire Ballroom
222 N. Vineyard Avenue, Ontario, CA 91764
More information will be available soon; watch for announcements!
Summative AssessmentsIn preparation for the release of the student score reports, the CDE has posted the new video Understanding Your Child's Score Report on the CAASPP Communications Toolkit Web page. This video describes and explains the new 2015 CAASPP Student Score Report. A Spanish version of the video will be posted soon.
The CDE extends its sincere appreciation to the California educators who have joined the State Network of Educators (SNE). Members of the SNE are trained to contribute and review formative assessment tools and resources for the Smarter Balanced Digital Library. Approximately 130 California educators are part of the SNE team. California’s SNE team consists largely of K–12 public education representatives, including classroom teachers and curriculum and instruction specialists. In addition, most members of the SNE have experience providing instruction to special populations, such as students who are English learners, students with disabilities, and gifted students. All Digital Library resources are vetted and approved by multiple SNE members before being added to the Library for use by educators from Smarter Balanced member states. The Digital Library is a resource for all K–12 public school educators in California. Any LEA CAASPP coordinators who need assistance with registering new users should contact the Digital Library Help Desk by phone at 855-631-1510.
