Still on the Right Track!
A new report released by the National Network of State Teachers of the Year (NNSTOY) shows that Smarter Balanced assessments are more rigorous and better aligned with classroom instruction than state standardized tests administered in the past. New Items on California’s Test Score Guide Web Page
The CAASPP: Keeping California’s Students on Track for College and Career Website has been updated with new sample test items for English language arts/literacy and mathematics. Users select by grade, subject, and score range to view items that exemplify the kinds of passages and questions that students at different levels of achievement would likely answer correctly. Visit this user-friendly Web site to gain a better understanding of student scores!
New Desmos Calculator Ready for Summative Administration 2017–18!
On May 8, 2017, a new partnership between Desmos and Smarter Balanced was announced. Desmos will offer an embedded, fully accessible calculator for the spring 2018 summative assessments. In addition, the Desmos calculator will be available for all students to use throughout the school year, providing an opportunity for teachers to use the tool in daily instruction and for students to become accustomed to the resource before using it during testing. This new graphing calculator by Desmos offers a user friendly interface, live graphing feedback, and color-coded graphs. The new calculator is now available on the Desmos Website .
