Standards-Based Tests in Spanish

The California Department of Education is pleased to report that—to date—6,318 students have taken the Standards-based Tests in Spanish (STS) during the current administration! The STS can be administered up to the last day that a local educational agendy (LEA) is in session or by July 16. Questions about the administration of the STS should be directed to the California Technical Assistance Center (CalTAC) at 800-955-2954.

Reminder About Requests for Testing Window Extension

Requests by LEAs for an extension of their testing window will be granted only if all three of the following criteria are met:

  1. The extension will not cause the end date of the new testing window to occur after the end date of the regulatory testing window.

  2. The extension request is made prior to the last date of the selected testing window.

  3. The selected testing window has not expired.

LEA CAASPP coordinators can request a test window extension of up to 10 consecutive instructional days (California Code of Regulations, Title 5, Section 855 [b] [4]) by contacting CalTAC at 800-955-2954. Requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
