This tool helps local educational agencies (LEAs) to ensure that they have sufficient bandwidth and browser capabilities to run the Smarter Balanced assessments.

Smarter Balanced Technology Readiness Calculator External link opens in new window or tab.
This Web-based calculator is used to estimate the number of days and network bandwidth required to complete the assessments given the number of students, number of computers, and number of hours per day computers are available for testing at the school.

Secure Browsers External link opens in new window or tab.
For the 2016–2017 test administration, a secure browser must be installed on each computer or tablet that will be used for student testing.

2017 Estimated Testing Times External link opens in new window or tab.
Describes the approximate times that will be required to complete each portion of the Smarter Balanced summative tests for English language arts/literacy and mathematics. These tests are not timed and times will vary.

California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS)
CALPADS is the authoritative source for student demographics, enrollment, and program data which is used for the student test registration system, known as the Test Operations Management System (TOMS).

This Webinar provides local educational agencies (LEAs) information on how to prepare CALPADS data for the student test registration system and provides a list of the data elements being sent to TOMS.
