LGBTQ+ Statewide Advisory Task Force

The LGBTQ+SAT, established pursuant to California Education Code (EC) Section 219, is created to identify the needs of LGBTQ+ students and to make recommendations to assist in implementing supportive policies and initiatives to address LGBTQ+ student education and well-being.

The LGBTQ+SAT will hold at least six meetings between July 2024 and January 2026, and shall submit a report to the Legislature, the Governor, and the State Superintendent of Public Instruction that includes its findings and recommendations to ensure full implementation of EC Section 219. The report shall be submitted to the Legislature in compliance with Section 9795 of the Government Code 10231.5 .
