Student Support and Academic Enrichment (SSAE) Competitive Grant Program

The purpose of the SSAE Competitive Grant Program is to encourage and support eligible districts and public charter schools to increase the capacity of LEAs to provide all students with access to well-rounded educational opportunities; support safe and healthy students; and/or support the effective use of technology. The process will prioritize applications that enhance visual and performing arts education or utilize funds as part of a comprehensive strategy to expand access to physical and mental health care.

Intent to Award Notification
Due to the large volume of 2018 Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grant applications the California Department of Education (CDE) received, the CDE delayed the posting of the intent to award to November 26, 2018. The new deadline for receipt of any appeal was 5 p.m. on Monday, December 3, 2018, maintaining the seven-day period between the intent to award and the deadline for receipt of any appeal. Information regarding submitting an appeal is available on page 24 of the SSAE Grant Request for Applications (RFA).
The dates associated with other activities noted in the SSAE RFA Timeline (p. 16) remain the same.

Certifications and Assurances
