The school's proportion of students excused at parent request
compared to its Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR)
program enrollment on the first day of testing is equal to
or greater than 10 percent.
When a school's proportion of parental waivers is equal to or greater than 10 but less than 20 percent, the California Department of Education conducts standard statistical tests to check whether the pupils tested at the school were representative of the entire school's population. This school failed the statistical test or its proportion of parental waivers in 2002 was 20 percent or greater, therefore, the school does not have a valid 2002 API Base. |
2 |
This school (or the district on behalf of the school) has
certified to the California Department of Education that an
irregularity in testing procedure occurred during the Spring
2002 testing.
Therefore, a 2002 API Base will not be reported for this school. |
3 |
The district superintendent (or principal, if an independent
charter school) has certified that the scores obtained
on the 2002 administration of the Stanford 9 do not reflect
the performance of the students at the school.
Therefore, a 2002 Base API will not be reported for this school. |
4 |
2002 Growth and 2002 Base APIs cannot be reported because for at least one STAR content area used in API calculations, this school failed to test a significant portion of students who were not exempt from testing in 2002. In addition, without a valid 2002 Base API this school will not receive a 2003 Growth API |
5 |
This school (or the district on behalf of the school)
reported that it would correct 2002 Standardized Testing and
Reporting (STAR) demographic information through the testing
contractor. The district has forwarded the corrections to
the testing contractor in a timely manner. However, the information
has not been corrected.
The California Department of Education will post 2002 Base API for this school when corrected data become available. |
6 |
This school will not receive a 2002 Base API because it has unresolved discrepancies in its demographic data for the 2002 Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR). |
7 |
2002 Growth and 2002 Base APIs are not reported for this
school because CDE is currently reviewing the 2002 STAR results. CDE will either publish the API for this school or provide a specific reason for invalidating the API when the investigation is complete |
8 |
Some results are not available because the answer documents were misplaced at the contractor's and have not been found. A modified 2002 Base API may be published at a later date. |
9 |
This school serves a non-traditional student population and has elected to participate in the Alternative Schools Accountability Model. |
10 |
In 2002, this school had fewer than 11 valid STAR test scores. No reliable API can be calculated with so few scores. This school will participate in the Alternative Schools Accountability Model. |
11 |
This school did not receive a 2002 Base API because it has unresolved discrepancies in its demographic data for the 2002 Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR). When the discrepancies are resolved a 2002 Base API will be published in March 2002. |
