CSEY County Office of Education Participation

Participation information for county offices of education in support of the Classified School Employees of the Year Program.

Nominees for the Classified School Employees of the Year (CSEY) Award compete in the state program as nominees of county offices of education (COEs). Nominees must be a classified employee of a California public school (preschool through grade twelve) including charter schools, school districts, and COEs. The California Department of Education (CDE) provides general guidelines regarding the awards program including the evaluation and selection criteria that will be used to select nominees at the state level. The CDE encourages COEs and school districts to collaborate with employee organizations in their local selection process.

Some COEs organize and administer classified staff recognition programs within the county. Some school districts also administer recognition programs within their jurisdiction. Counties and districts that do not currently have a classified employee recognition program are encouraged to develop a local process. COEs support their nominees by assisting them with completing the nomination form and carefully reviewing the final nomination form so that each candidate, as a potential state finalist, offers a compelling and competitive nomination.
