Physical Education Teacher Incentive Program (Flexible Funds)

Funding for this program is unrestricted pursuant to SBX3 4 (Chapter 12, Statutes of 2009), enacted February 2009. For additional information, please refer to the Action on 2008 and 2009 Budget Acts Web page.

Before 2008-09, funds were restricted to the Physical Education Teacher Incentive Program to support ongoing incentive grants for school districts to hire more credentialed physical education teachers for kindergarten through grade eight. The program helps address the rising incidence of obesity by having trained experts provide instructional minutes in physical education.
