A block grant providing funding for any purpose authorized by the Instructional Time and Staff Development Reform (ITSDR), Teaching as a Priority Block Grant (TAP), and Intersegmental Staff Development Programs as they existed prior to inclusion in the Professional Development Block Grant.

| Required Eligibility Criteria |
Participation in either or all of Instructional Time and Staff Development Reform (ITSDR), Teaching as a Priority (TAP), and Intersegmental Staff Development programs in the 2003-04 fiscal year is necessary for PDBG funding. Charter schools that receive funds through the Charter School Categorical Block Grant are not eligible to receive funds from PDBG because it is included in the statutory list of programs for which block grant funded charter schools may not apply separately. |

| Allocation Formula | For fiscal year 2008-09, district funding is based on prior year entitlements adjusted by the annual rate of growth in statewide average daily attendance and the cost-of-living adjustment on district base revenue limits. Funding increases are contingent upon funds being made available in the annual budget act. |
