California Partnership Academies: Mentor-Mentee Initiative

Funding Description

Funding will be provided to California Partnership Academies (CPA) through the Governorís Technical Education (CTE) Initiative. The intent of this grant is to provide an academy to academy mentoring approach so that new academies can benefit from the programmatic, curricular, and team development knowledge of experienced, successful academies. This program serves teachers and coordinators of California Partnership Academies.


Eligible Applicants Local educational agencies
Required Eligibility Criteria Mentor Academies must: Have had full California Partnership Academy (CPA) implementation status (grades ten through twelve) for at least five years; achieved full CPA funding ($81,000) for the past five years; all academy required components successfully implemented; approval of district and site administration to participate as a Mentor Academy and to fulfill all required mentor activities, including site visits, workshops, certifications, and ongoing Mentee-Academy support for the 2008-09 and 2009-10 school years; a desire to share knowledge, skills, experience, and lessons learned with new and developing academies. Mentee Academies must be newly funded academies.
