Funding for this program is unrestricted pursuant to SBX3 4 (Chapter 12, Statutes of 2009), enacted February 2009. For additional information, please refer to the Action on 2008 and 2009 Budget Acts Web page.
Before 2008-09, funds were restricted to the Morgan-Hart Program which allocated funds to school districts for participating high schools to reduce class size in grade nine English and one other course required for graduation (mathematics, science or social studies). Districts may also serve grades ten, eleven, or twelve if they have continuously implemented the program since 1998.
