Teacher Credentialing Block Grant (Flexible Funds)


Funding Description

Funding for this program is unrestricted pursuant to SBX3 4 (Chapter 12, Statutes of 2009), enacted February 2009. For additional information, please refer to the Action on 2008 and 2009 Budget Acts Web page.

Before 2008-09, funds were restricted to the Teacher Credentialing Block Grant (TCBG) program, which includes funding for the Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment (BTSA) program. The BTSA program is an initiative to provide formative assessment and individualized support based on assessment information for beginning teachers.

Required Eligibility Criteria Local educational agencies (LEAs) that received funding in 2008-09 are eligible for funds.
