Statewide System of School Support

Funding Description

The Regional System of District and School Support (RSDSS) is a component of California's Statewide System of School Support (S4), which was established to meet state and federal requirements for a support system that would increase the opportunity for all students to meet academic content and achievement standards. The statewide system consists of regional consortia, which may include county offices of education and school districts, aligned to the 11 regions established by the California County Superintendents Educational Services Association (CCSESA). Funding supports one RSDSS office per region.

Required Eligibility Criteria	Only the eleven previously identified RSDSS offices located in the designated regional lead county offices of education are eligible to apply. Funds are reserved for these established RSDSS offices.

Allocation Formula	Funding will be allocated according to the following factors: (1) a base amount per region; (2) number of Title I schools;(3) pupil enrollment in those schools as determined by the California Basic Educational Data System (CBEDS) data; and (4) the number of school districts in each region that have been identified as being in need of improvement pursuant to Section 6316 of Title 20 of the United States Code.
