Administrator Training (Flexible Funds)

Funding Description

Funding for this program is unrestricted pursuant to SBX3 4 (Chapter 12, Statutes of 2009), enacted February 2009. For additional information, please refer to the Action on 2008 and 2009 Budget Acts Web page.

Before 2008-09, the funds were restricted to the Administrator Training Program (AB 430), which reauthorized the Principal Training Program (AB 75). It supports professional development that focuses on building principals' and vice principals' leadership skills. Separate federal funding comes from No Child Left Behind (NCLB): Title II, Part A, Principal Training and is appropriated in Item 6110-195-0890.

Allocation Formula For fiscal year 2009-10, LEA's will receive approximately the same amount of funds they received for fiscal year 2008-09, less approximately 5.2%.

Funding for this program from fiscal years 2009-10 through 2012-13 will be based on 2008-09 funding levels. LEAs will receive the same percentage of the available funding that they received of the funding allocated in 2008-09.
