California Partnership Academies SB70 Planning Grant

Funding Description

This funding is for planning grants for 2010-11 for schools intending to implement a California Partnership Academy (CPA) in any industry sector in 2011-12 and is contingent on inclusion in the approved State Budget. Funding will be provided through the Governor Technical Education Initiative. The CPAs are effective school / district / business partnerships, providing integrated academic and career technical instruction. The CPA model is a school-within-a-school for students interested in exploring, preparing for careers, and college.

Required Eligibility Criteria This is special funding for the CPA Program. Schools participating in the program must follow the specification of California Education Code sections 54690–54696.

Legal Authority Funding will be provided through the CTE Initiative (SB 70), pursuant to the supplemental report of Budget Item 6110-170-0001, community colleges, related to the CTE Plan; CPA model California Education Code sections 54690–54696.
