New Charter School Supplemental Categorical Block Grant

Funding Description

For the 2010-11 fiscal year, a supplemental categorical block grant is available to charter schools that began operation in the 2008-09, 2009-10, or 2010-11 fiscal year. The supplemental block grant funds may be used for any educational purpose.

Required Eligibility Criteria New charter schools that began operation in the 2008-09, 2009-10, or 2010-11 fiscal year. An exception is that a locally funded charter school that converted from a preexisting school between the 2008-09 and 2010-11 fiscal years is not eligible for funding.

Allocation Formula Funding is provided to new charter schools that began operation in the 2008-09, 2009-10, or 2010-11 fiscal year at a rate of $127 per unit of charter school average daily attendance as determined at the 2010-11 second principal apportionment.
